Dont read this if you have a short attention span!

They say what you don't know wouldn't kill you, thats true but it will "can" harm you.
I was questioned by a friend of mine on the statement that i made on Self education and the impact our Educational unions have on our future.

You are your own teacher, looking for teachers cant solve your doubts. Investigate yourself to find the truth - inside, not just outside. Knowing yourself is most important. Knowing others is just as important but what you do with that information is all up to you.
In what ever we do, we discover ourselves and in the heights we attain, we measure ourselves. 

In Africa today if we are unable to give facilities for youth to learn about themselves, then we have failed another generation, just like the previous did themselves and we are now paying a dear price. All i know today i didnt study in university, but by challenging myself for my own self discovery. I know many things about the world because i have discovered whats within me. No man is different from the other. What i can, you can if you like what i like. All that differentiates us is our level of will to rediscover whats within "what it means to us". Our will is either dampened or supported by others. My confidence allows me to reach out to others and because i am confident, i am embracing of others. The more ignorant the world, the more violent it becomes because it feels hopeless.

We in Africa have been made to believe teachers are gods, so it is likely that no one wants to bring themselves to question their practices and the methods of educating. If i don't question my supposed elders, it means i am ok with what they have created. Is God intimidated by us questioning his existence? No! He encourages it by remaining mysterious and at the same time open for individuals in pursuit of him to describe him, be it through science or religions but what truly speaks of him is faith "thats just a minutes way of me trying to sum up the vast knowledge that is in store".

People are intimidated when they, what they believe in and do is questioned. What have we got to hide that isn't evident in our society already? Are you afraid to be called crazy or extricated? In history we have a lot of great people who we killed for being different from the flock but today they are IMMORTAL. I watched a film yesterday and it related to a mum moving the motion to change the old fashioned structure that didn't support her Dyslexic daughter because she herself was sidelined in school and now had to live in poverty because no one found a way to help her with her learning difficulty, she was even more fired up to change things. She had to face the Union who was more interested in the teachers rather than the student. I ask wouldn't the Job be much more secure if more options are available to kids? a quote said "Better schools better Neighbourhoods." Dosnt quality education increase quality of life and more diverse jobs and security for the teachers?

Life is not intimidated by us but we are intimidated of Life because we know very little of it and we dont search for its truths so we end up vulnerable to it and its seasons. If seasons change why shouldn't our views change? Education is supposed to create channels for change. How can change come if we stifle the individuals within the educational system and box the teachers in keeping old as new? Why do we send children to schools where the direction of its practices curb the will to create? Our Elders think they know better and know it all and refuse to recreate with the young. How can one fill an already full cup? Whats worse is that even employers are now stranded with the lack of diverse minded employees coming out of these one-sided institutions.

What is a kid? Does our institution understand the difference between who they are working ON or who they should be working WITH? Are kids lab rabbits? Isn't the future about collaboration of all parties to establish a continuum? The concept of what a child is, is none existent because we are more interested in ourselves. We are supposed to be Christians, yet what we practice is what Jesus advised not to do.

• "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Let the children know themselves and the world for the future belongs to them. Those who know nothing of themselves are easily manipulated. Was the goal to breed slaves?

We have driven them away from the future because we want to keep a sense of our own self today. Man would feel useless if he cant fiddle with another for his own self relevance. We have rubbed kids from their sense of self. The future belongs to them and we are meant to safeguard their future. Adults are a selfish lot, where they would withhold knowledge from them, so they can rule them and today we are living with the evidence of it. Where is your old age safety now? The idea of adults is to keep power over their own lives, yet they have lost it.

I am a mum of a son who is Autistic more towards being defined as an Aspergers kid, and i am hell bent to change the minds of people and the educational sector who measures everyone by one stick. My boy has talents that the ordinary "average kid" dosnt pick interest in. He does maths, and constructs models, has a voice and controls it in a way that amazes the adults that come across him. When you least expect him to embrace knowledge he creates even a new dimension to it, but he cant communicate it in voice yet.

I have had to battle with our daft educational system and the mindset of teachers who if i wasnt informed by the assistant in the class that they put him at the back seat for months in a class of 30, i would have lost my son forever. This is what happens to many kids within the African environment. We are very much practising the Spartan way of life, yet we fail to research that although many cases are genetic, loads are also created by us the supposed heathy humans. Vaccines, and Antibiotics, Accidents "falling head down at a tender age are playing a huge role in increasing the levels of cases registered. Not counting that some kids are misdiagnosed to have learning deficiencies rather than trying the different learning styles that kids have.

We learn from movies "site", we learn from toughing "touch", we learn from words "hearing and reading" we even learn from the inner voice "Spiritually" our own unique way from processing ideas and projecting. A lot of geniuses are considered mad because they dont think the way others think or do. My boy had shown the skill in using his left hand for writing and a teacher right in front of me forced him to use his right hand because she didnt know how to help him with his unique way. That day still angers me, because she wasn't educated that the coordination of the brain is what makes you do what you do. If you switch forcefully someone from one physiology to the other you are messing with his natural instincts. It is widely known that those who write\right with the right think with the left brain, and those with the left think with the right. Most left handed individuals are up the charts in Leadership in the world. Obama is One, do you wish i name most who are? You mess with someones uniqueness you are messing with their life. Fiddle on yourselves than others, a much more productive way at changing the world we live in. Our lack of acceptance of self is messing with our ability to accept the world. We are so used to being told "brainwashed" that we are so blind to see when change is required. We are hurting others and ourselves in return. This learning style problem doesn't just stop here but it also touches those who we consider disabled. We have accepted the notion that someone who is without a leg or an arm isn't capable, yet we don't think that someone without a heart is disabled.

A friend asked "Alsu, are you undermining the role of teachers?"
Do you feel I have? Or do you feel they have undermined their own positions? You sound like how dare me question the existence of God! Are men and teachers gods that one shouldn't question them? Besides's God isnt intimidated by men questioning his existence, in fact he has made himself invisible so that man questions him, and in pursuit he finds him!

Are we now saying that the failed educational system isn't partially of their "educators and their unions" own doing? Do we know what is going on in our schools and universities? Children are being flogged to death, because an ignorant teacher dosnt think/know that there are kids in his class that have a physically weak heart, or a teacher calls a child Olodo, yet the kid has Autism or ADHD and Dyslexia. Are our teachers trained on the concept of health and safety?

I am a firm believer that there is no excuse on this planet to mediocrity and especially for teachers who do not self educate themselves, to keep the standard of life and their jobs! Especially in this day and age where Wikipedia is on your phone, and an even better educator when you see right in front of you, an instant fact that the kid(s) isn't understanding something and you buff him(them) off as lazy! You the teacher is lazy! You the union who benefits from having manipulatable individuals to keep your own relevance and keep them subservient to corporations. Ignorant of a simple fact that "A world" that was rediscovered by the adults is being shoved down a child's or youths brain, and no one taking note that he cant comprehend because he isn't in part practising what he is reading! Come on ADULTS we need to increase our Emotional intelligence a bit which kids have in abundance and we should realise we are killing our own kids and kind!

Of course it isn't easy to educate a child, but children don't need to be thought what they already know, they know themselves while in school they are made to lose confidence in who they are through restricting what they can! They come out with no confidence, we adults have rubbed them off that confidence from start! A teacher standing over them with sticks and stones without a reason, who has been told by the system that kids are unruly and from day one she enters the classroom with an attitude!

A school or university is a ground "place" for a child's self and the worlds exploration, not a nazi camp where he is made from day one to feel unsafe, degraded by some adults perception of what is important because he himself (teacher) at home has been undermined by his wife and then he transferres the aggression, refusing to see that a kid is just a small adult and his duty is to help not force the human being using degrading numbers as score! Every F is an F to the teacher not the student. Schools were built for them as a second home, yet we are praising adults who come there to do what ever they like! How will they keep their job? Why should they get paid or respected when they release students one can't employ? I had the best teachers and the worst! The best thought me Character the worst tried to assassinate it, rather than show me what their subject was about!

C grade kids are employing A students today and come to think of it always had! Have you ever bothered to ask why? Academic intelligence makes for only 4% of d over-all human intelligence while 96% makes for emotional intelligence(human relations,etc). Consequently,being a genius in academics doz nt guarantee success in life. 

If for me giving a child self confidence means I am undermining teachers and the unions who have failed to keep the standards of the teachers, I will not only undermine but assassinate the institution! and rebuild it back! I as a business person can't find a decent selection of graduates to employ using the grade standards of institutions, they come with attitudes that say "I am not confident because I don't know the answers to the job questions you have, but I have no choice, I have to survive, so I will put my certificate that I slept for with the lecturer, because mother and father told me to study law while I wanted to be a football player!

When the society assassinates the character of kids, its time for a tit for tat don't you think? Adults should never forget that schools were built for children and not for adults to exercise authority over kids who they have no authority over! Their job is to deliver excellence on their subject not interfere with the child or youths growth! Cant create magic to call the attention of your class, get out of the kitchen. Professions cant be thought unless they are willingly chosen. Talent is given to man by nature as a gift, and you ADULTs are not the one's to dictate what is relevant and what isn't. I am pro-child and his character and will assassinate anyone who is trying to assassinate them and their future.

If you say I should bring evidence look at the state of the country/continent and its people! What school did they all go through? You are suffering from the individuals who have been poorly educated in who they are and what is possible. We deserve the government we have, since we bread the leaders of tomorrow in the schools we have.
